Information

Everything you need to know to participate in the Backyard Ultra Val-de-Ruz.

Rules

The Backyard Ultra is an ultra-endurance race format created by Lazarus Lake. The concept is simple: runners must complete a loop of 6.706 km (4.167 miles) in under one hour. The start is given every hour, on the hour.

Any runner who doesn't show up at the start line on time or doesn't finish the loop within the time limit is eliminated. The race continues until only one runner remains — the 'Last One Standing'.

If the last loop has only one runner, they must still complete their loop to be declared the winner. If all remaining runners drop out in the same loop, there is no winner (collective DNF).
