General Terms and Conditions of Participation

1. Purpose

These general terms and conditions govern participation in the Backyard Ultra Val-de-Ruz (hereinafter 'the race'), organised by the BUVDR association in Engolon, Val-de-Ruz, Canton of Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

2. Conditions of Participation

• Be at least 18 years old on race day
• Be in good physical condition and fit for running
• Accept these general terms and conditions upon registration
• Pay the registration fee

3. Registration and Payment

Registration is confirmed upon receipt of full payment. The fees are as follows:

• Early Bird : Early Bird: CHF 70
• Standard : Standard rate: CHF 80

The number of places is limited to 150 participants.

4. Cancellation and Refund

In case of cancellation by the participant:

• More than 60 days before the race: full refund
• Between 30 and 60 days: 50% refund
• Less than 30 days: no refund

Transfer of registration to a third party is possible up to 14 days before the race.

5. Event Cancellation

In case of race cancellation due to force majeure, the organisation reserves the right to postpone the race or issue a partial refund.

6. Race Format

The Backyard Ultra is an elimination race. Participants must complete a 6.706 km loop every hour. The last runner still in the race is declared the winner.

7. Liability and Insurance

Each participant runs at their own risk. It is strongly recommended to have personal liability and accident insurance.

8. Personal Data

The data collected is processed in accordance with our privacy policy.

9. Image Rights

By participating in the race, the runner authorises the organisation to use photos and videos taken during the event for communication and promotional purposes.

10. Applicable Law

These terms and conditions are governed by Swiss law. Any dispute shall fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of the Canton of Neuchâtel.
